Ice Flower wins in Norway
The Secret Of The Ice Flower by Copenhagen Bombay won the Best Children's Film award and the Audience Prize at the Fredrikstad Animation Festival in Norway.
CelAction2D shows win Children's BAFTAs
At the Children's BAFTAs held in London on the 25th November, CelAction productions triumphed once again. In the Pre-School Animation category, Peppa Pig by Astley Baker Davies won for the third time, and Horrible Histories won in the Comedy category.

CelAction2D shows nominated for Children's BAFTAs
Once again, CelAction2D features prominently in the Children's BAFTA nominees list. In the Pre-School Animation category, Peppa Pig by Astley Baker Davies is nominated, and Horrible Histories is nominated in both the Comedy and Writing categories. The winners will be announced on Sunday 25th November.

Heart Of Winter mentioned honourably in Ottawa
Au Coeur De L'Hiver (Heart Of Winter) by Isabelle Favez, received an Honourable Mention in the Best Short Animation Made For Children category at the Ottawa International Animation Festival 2012, held in Canada on 20th-23rd September.

Over 10% of all Cartoon Forum projects are made in CelAction2D
Cartoon Forum, the leading platform for European animated TV series being held in Toulouse, France on the 12th-14th September, will include 7 pitches made using CelAction2D animation software. This is over 10% of the total number of 69 projects, including not just 2D shows, but 3D and stop motion too. Following in the footsteps of previous Cartoon Forum successes such as Peppa Pig, Charlie & Lola and Sarah & Duck, these new CelAction2D projects represent the best of European talent, and also demonstrate the confidence in the 2D market.
"This is an unprecedented achievement for us", said Andy Blazdell, CEO of CelAction, developer of CelAction2D. "We've never had so many shows presented in one year before at Cartoon Forum, and it underlines our growing presence on the worldwide stage."
One of the firm favourites for this year's Cartoon Forum is Fingers McGraw, from Tiger Aspect Productions, a 26 x 22 minute series for the 6+ market. It's a fast-paced and funny Cops-and-Robbers show that's already got everybody talking. The Tiger Aspect team worked closely with CelAction to develop a unique look that can be animated quickly and efficiently to get the best results.
"The new features we have put in to CelAction2D over the past couple of years are making a huge difference," added Andy. "We're redefining the total cost of production of 2D animation to give higher quality for lower prices. Studios all over the world are re-evaluating their existing pipelines and looking to our model."

CelAction and Adobe and Sarah & Duck
At the Creative Focus during MIFA in Annecy on the 7th June 2012, CelAction, Adobe and Karrot Animation are doing a joint presentation called 2D Animation Masterclass: Case Study of the CBeebies animated series Sarah & Duck. It starts at 2pm in the MIFA Events Area. Come along and get an unprecedented look inside the production process of a major TV series currently in production.

CelAction2D working great on Windows 8
We've concluded our testing of CelAction2D on Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and we are pleased to report that everything is working fine. Obviously, we won't know for sure until we have tested the final release candidate from Microsoft, but we'll be doing that as soon as Microsoft makes it available, to ensure that CelAction2D and Windows 8 are fully compatible from day one of the official Windows 8 release.

CelAction shows win British Animation Awards
Bookaboo by Happy Films won the Best Mixed Media Children's Series award and Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom by Astley Baker Davies won the Best PreSchool Series award at the British Animation Awards held on 15th March 2012. We were also very proud to be the only animation software mentioned during the awards ceremony that was actually cheered by the audience.

Favourite Ever British Animated Character
Three of the nominees for the Favourite Ever British Animated Character have been animated in CelAction2D - Mr. Benn (for the recent DVD release), Lola from Charlie & Lola, and of course Peppa Pig. CelAction is proud to not only support the UK animation industry, but to also contribute to UK culture. The final result will be revealed at the British Animation Awards on 15th March.

British Animation Awards nominees
Several shows made with CelAction2D are up for British Animation Awards - The Itch Of The Golden Nit by Aardman Animations is nominated in the Best Long Form Category, Peppa Pig and Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom by Astley Baker Davies are nominated in the Best PreSchool Series Category, Bookaboo by Happy Films and Peppa Pig are nominated in the Children's Choice Category, and Bookaboo gets another nomination in the Best Mixed Media Children's Series Category. The BAA ceremony is on the 15th March 2012.
Once again, CelAction shows that it is truly supporting the UK animation industry, helping to make animation that would be impossible to create cost-effectively using other methods.
Horrible Histories nominated for KidScreen award

Winner of LIAF Cut-Out Competition
Congratulations to Elizabeth Sevenoaks, who won the Best Cut-Out Film award at the London International Animation Festival 2011. Her film, Roots Of The Hidden, was judged by CelAction CEO Andy Blazdell to be the best from a strong international line-up. She wins a licence of CelAction2D Professional Edition.
